Lytham YMCA Under 10s

Helping out in our local communities is at the heart of Excel’s values, especially when it comes to children and young people. We have been the proud sponsors of local side Lytham St Annes YMCA Football Club (LSAYMCA FC) for a couple of years now. Our journey began when the club started at the under 7’s level but now at under 10’s, we still remain as committed as ever by supporting the club with kits and training essentials.

Having a local opportunity like this for children is great! Not only does it keep them fit and active, it also encourages them to be outside in the fresh air for a couple of hours a week, away from their technology devices with other children their age, whilst developing team work skills. For some children, a club like this can mean the world to them and it’s enjoyable seeing the passion they have for football and that’s what drives us on to support them as much as we can.

Richard (LSAYMCA FC manager) said:

“Excel Fostering have sponsored our football team since we started at under 7’s. When I first contacted Excel Fostering, the staff were so positive and responsive and have continued that way whenever we’ve touched base with them. Since then they have generously helped out team with full kits, hoodies, warm jackets for those cold morning and more recently tracksuit tops.  We are now under 10’s and I know all the players and parents, including myself will always be indebted to Excel Fostering for the help they have provided.”

A big thank you to Richard and the team for all the effort and dedication they put in. It really does make a difference to young lives and we look forward to supporting the club further as they grow!

Nelson Ladies FC

Here at Excel Fostering, we love doing our bit for the local community and helping out anyway we can and when the opportunity came about to be the kit sponsor for local team Nelson Ladies FC, we knew we had to be involved!

Nelson Ladies FC is a small community club that is located near our Burnley office. They currently play in the LFA Women’s County Premier Division and have made an impressive start to the 2019-2020 season, which has seen them cement their position at the top of the table after going on a four game unbeaten run!

Awareness, interest and coverage of women’s football is growing rapidly across the world and rightly so. Nelson Ladies FC have done an incredible job in establishing a club that gives local girls and women from all walks of life and background an opportunity to play football at a competitive level. We feel it’s important that young girls (and boys) feel like they are equal in society and have opportunities to take part in what they love.

Manager Nicky Simmonds said “We are pleased to start a partnership with Excel Fostering. The women’s game is on the rise and growing each week and here at Nelson Football Club, it was a no brainer to start a women’s team. As the only recognised teams in our area are Burnley FC and Barrowford Celtic, it’s great to add another in the Pendle area. We are always on the lookout for girls 16+ to showcase their talents to us. We have a hard working squad who have helped us get to where we are today and we’ve only been going 4 years and in that time, we have achieved one domestic final, two back-to-back promotions and we’re hoping to make it a third. So it is really pleasing to see and I want to thank Parvis and his team at Excel for sponsoring us.”

If you know any girls aged 17+ of all abilities who would like to join Nelson Ladies FC, get in touch with them on Facebook – Nelson Ladies FC.

Keep up the great work Nelson Ladies FC and we look forward to the rest of the season!

Excel Fostering, based in Lytham St Anne’s have expanded their operations into Burnley in a bid to increase the numbers of foster carers registered with the independent fostering agency as there is a shortage of over 8,000 foster carers across England.

The Department of Education reported that there’s over 75,000 in care with 13,220 of these children residing in the North West of England.

The latest figures show that there are 1,964 looked after children and young people in the Lancashire local authority, which is 23% increase from 2014.

Councillor Anne Kelly, the Mayor of Burnley, joined staff and foster carers on 26th November at the official opening of the Burnley office and she said:

“With so many children in care and the number increasing day by day, it’s important that we do everything we can to place these children in safe and loving homes. Sometime that means adoption is the right arrangement for the child however, sometimes the fostering arrangement is absolutely right for the child or young person.

We are thankful for organisations like Excel for all the hard work that they do for children and young people behind the scenes that usually goes unnoticed. We need more people like this to carry on doing what they do every day.”

Catherine Lockett, regional director for Capstone (North) said:

“We’re delighted to open a new office in Burnley. We have been making brighter tomorrows for children and young people for the last 10 years and have an experienced, skilled staff team who support our foster carers in their local communities.”
