Excel Fostering have developed a Multidisciplinary Assessment Treatment and Therapy Service (MATTS) which provides assessment, consultation and Therapy to children and young people looked after in their fostering services. MATTS is overseen by a Clinical Director and led in each region by an employed Clinical Lead and the team comprises of a variety of experienced clinicians including (but not limited to) Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, Creative Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists and many more. Due to the growth in our service and the longer-term support we provide,  we are looking to recruit experienced Therapists to support from many different modalities.  We will then be able to support many more fostering families and the children they care for.  Within the South-East region we are really grateful to have a richly diverse community of children, foster carers and staff from a wide variety of cultures and we are really keen to recruit people who can speak languages such as Urdu, Gujarita, Pashto, Arabic, Tigrinya, (Ethiopian)  so that we can be more flexible in offering our young people and foster carers clinical support in a language that is more familiar to them.  It is also important to us that our clinicians have a secure understanding of cultural competences.

Our Therapists are self-employed and are commissioned to undertake specific pieces of assessment and intervention. We work collaboratively as a multi-disciplinary team around the young person and fostering family.

We are looking for:

  • DDP Practitioners
  • EMDR Practitioners
  • Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists

  • Creative Arts Therapists (Art, Drama, Music)
  • Dance Movement Psychotherapists
  • Eco/Environmental Therapists
  • Family or Multisystemic Therapists
  • Play, Filial and Theraplay Therapists

Work could include undertaking clinical support to the foster carers and to the professional network, as well as undertaking specialist assessment of the child or young person and offering direct intervention. This is a unique, multidisciplinary service working in an adaptive and responsive way, to support children and young people within their foster family.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is enshrined within Excel Fostering's policy and practice. We expect our employees to share this commitment with us.
