Arranging A Home Visit
We will arrange a home visit to meet you and your family, or a video chat to get to know you better. This will provide you with a chance to ask us questions, and get to know one another.

A Foster Carer
The next step will be to complete an application form. At this point, you will also be assigned a social worker who will work with you throughout the process.

Starting The Assessment
To begin the assessment process, you and your social worker will work with each other to complete a Form F assessment.

Training for our foster carers begins as soon as you apply to become a foster parent. All of our prospective foster carers are required to attend our ‘Skills to Foster’ training course.

At this stage, final checks are carried out by a panel before your recommendation is made to become a foster carer.
