Team D to raise £1,000 for Warrington Hospital's Children's Ward

Emma and her family (known as Team D) are walking 3669.8km in 12 months to raise money for Warrington Hospital's Children's Ward. She has shared a little more about why they have decided to do this below.

30th March, 2021

In 2019 I got a referral for twin boys. They were 8 months old at the time and very poorly, both on oxygen and Nasogastric tube fed. Of course, I said yes and here we are almost 2 years down the line and the boys have grown stronger each and every day.

After just a couple of weeks in my care the boys got moved to my local hospital in Warrington where they were cared for by the amazing doctors and nurses day in, day out. I was there daily and saw the hard work, love, and care that they offered the boys and the other children on the ward. The staff continued to be really supportive and very helpful once the boys got discharged too. Although, we would often still need to return to the hospital.

The boys are now 2 years 5 months old and have become such fun, loving and happy little boys. They love to sing, dance and are catching up to their peers which at one point didn’t seem possible.

We feel as a family that without that care and support we got from Warrington Hospital's Children’s Ward we couldn’t be where we are today.  So as a family we would like to give our thanks to the staff at Warrington Hospital by raising £1,000 which will be donated to the Children’s Ward. This will help buy toys, teddies, games and comforts for the children to help them through the treatment they are receiving.

To raise the money, we have become ‘Team D’. We are giving ourselves 12 months to walk the distance of Route 66 (a famous route in the US). This walk is 3669.8km in total. We are doing this by using an app called - The Conqueror Virtual Challenge.

We would be so grateful if you could support us in raising the funds for an amazing cause. Please click on the Just Giving link to donate.
